Lovey Dovey, Kiss Kiss

Billboard talks to their Artist of the Year, Chris Brown, about upcoming projects. Here are highlights:

-After his latest single, “Superhuman” with the tremendously underrated Keri Hilson, dies down (she says with a sarcastic grin as just about nobody even cares about this song...sadly), he will retreat into hiding to record a new album.

-He has written several songs with Rihanna for her upcoming album, with the possibility of a collaboration.

-He wrote a few songs for the Jonas Brothers’ fourth album, but is unsure if the guys took them or not. (I hope they did – how sick would that be? The fangirl inside of me rejoyces in super-psyched mode.)

-He’s written songs for Backstreet Boys and Pussycat Dolls, as well as “several new girl groups who are coming out." Squeeee! You know I love me some girl groups!

-He has collaborated with Tim McGraw (didn’t he do that song with Nelly all those years ago?) called “Human”. He didn’t say when we’d hear this. My interest is peaked with possibilities...kind of.

-Like every other heavy-hitter artist in pop music, he is developing his own label through his own, Jive.

Thanks for the interview link!

His next album should, by rights, be amazing--the only thing that worries me is that maybe half the leaks aren't worth keeping, which is fine (they're just demos, after all, and artists go through a lot of songs to come up with good ones), but it does leave me not 100% positive that he'll end up going the right direction. Still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I would be THRILLED if he could give the BSBs a song I love--if they'd come back with something like, say, "Forever" instead of "Inconsolable," I think there might of been non-stop rejoicing going on.

I wonder if he's just talking about "Captive" and "Nasty Girl" when he talks about writing for the Pussycat Dolls? If that's the case, it's a little bit of a deceptive comment from him, unless the Dolls are going to actually end up recording them.

I agree - I cannot wait to hear his new stuff, because of the leaks I keep hearing, they are all fantastic. Fingers crossed.

I haven't heard either of those tracks for PCD...were they subpar?
