Let the Countdowns Begin!

As everyone and their mother begins making 2008 countdowns of their favorite songs, artists and albums, I have decided I will give in to the peer pressure. But it probably won't be until after Christmas. Sorry to keep you waiting. ;)

In the meantime, Billboard Magazine (a.k.a. my bible) has listed its usual yearly accolaids at their website (http://www.billboard.com/). Chris Brown was dubbed artist of the year (however, in my humble opinion, I think the year really belonged to his GF, Rihanna)."Low" by Flo Rida & T-Pain was named the Hot 100's Song of the Year. "Bleeding Love" (Leona), "No One" (Alicia), "Lollipop" (Lil Wayne) and "Apologize" (OneRepublic) round out the top 5.

Here are the Top 10 New Artists of the Year:
10. David Archuleta
9. Duffy
8. David Cook
7. Metro Station
6. The-Dream
5. One Republic
4. Katy Perry
3. Flo Rida

But the most interesting look back at 2008 in music was their Top 20 News Stories of 2008 countdown. Here it is, in all it's glory:
