Aubrey O'Day, formerly of Danity Kane fame, and now of MTV whoreing fame, will be featured on the cover of the March '09 issue of "Playboy". She called the shoot "liberating" and "classy". Riiight. Nothing says classy and liberating like "Playboy". Just ask one of the ex-members of "The Girls Next Door." For the record I loved Danity Kane, and hope the best for their respective careers, but Aubrey. Aubrey Aubrey Aubrey...
The wait for the inevitable leak of Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" is over. The song was premiered on Z100 and has leaked all across the net. I've heard it. And I continue my claims I've stated a few days ago. It's fine. But it's no "Since U Been Gone" (even though it desperately wants to be "Since U Been Gone"). The lyrical content "suck"s INHO; I hate strong female artists who put out records about groveling to a jerk boyfriend. And the chorus seems a bit monotone, doesn't it? Sigh. Maybe it will grow on me...
The little engine that could Hilary Duff is trying her hand once again at acting on the small screen, with "Barely Legal", a comedy on NBC about the true story of Kathleen Holtz, a young women who passed the legal exam in 2007 at age 18. She's also calling for guest appearances on "The Office" and "30 Rock". I cannot fault Hilary. I may not have been her biggest fan during her younger days in music, but she at least made the transition from child actor to young woman as a sane, respectable adult (aside from the somewhat questionable "Maxim" photoshoot a month or so ago...but still, she's 21 and it wasn't too scandalous). She did have her share of musical missteps (that GoGos cover with her sister and dating a member of Good Charlotte when she was 17 come to mind) but I did sort of like her last album, 'Dignity', because it's very electro and was released in a time when not every US popstar attempted this. "With Love", "Stranger" and "Beat of My Heart" are pretty ace. So...maybe I'll be watching...
This isn't music news, but I'm saddened that FOX's "Prison Break" has officially been canceled following this season. At least they know now so they can kind of tie things off. I'm not an ardent fan like I was back in 2005-2006, and I do feel that, like "Lost", its a bit of a go-nowhere show after you've already broken out of the prison...twice. But still...that Wentworth Miller was a looker...
