The New Kat?

I just heard a fab new track called "Hypnotico" by Tami Chynn after I was referred by a friend. The song is a fun dance number, but I couldn't help but feel like I heard it before.

That's because the back beat sounds almost identical in my ear to Kat DeLuna's big (and only) hit "Whine Up" with Elephant Man. And I can' t help but feel like her voice sounds like a Jamaican Lady Gaga. You can download the song thanks to the people at the fab blog, The Prophet, here.

Don't get me wrong -- I have high hopes for Kat. I've heard rumblings that after she got dropped by Epic after disappointing sales of her debut, she has now signed with Universal Motown and will be releasing her sophomore set soon, which the majority of the production by Lady GaGa, Darin, Varsity Fanclub & Tami's producer, RedOne. And if RedOne's got your back, you know it's gonna be dance-tastic! :)
