[WGO] State of the Charts POI 9/20/09

Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3 knocks out Whitney to debut at #1 this past week. Per Hits Daily Double, Hova racked in almost half a million album sales in one week. While we all expected a large haul for him, those numbers are downright astounding for the current music market, so kudos to Mr. Roc Nation himself. Miley holds on to the #2 spot with an estimated almost 110K, pushing Whitney to #3 with a respectable 97K in her second week.

Brooks & Dunn debut at #5 with their Greatest Hits package #1s...And Then Some, and the Black Eyed Peas land at #7 and are named the Sales Gainer of the week. Boys Like Girls also debut at #8.

For next week's chart, Brit rockers Muse and Kid Cudi are expected to make significant strides with their debut discs which were released this past Tuesday, but I think the real dark horse may be Drake, who also saw the release of his debut album. However, JayZ is still predicted to come out with top prize.
