Two Words: "Why" and "Noooooo"

For those of you who watch "American Idol" like I do, you are probably excited about the upcoming eighth season which premieres next week. Drama, Paula Abdul, Bad Auditions by Ignorant Musicians, the entrance of Kara DioGuardi, I don't even need to go on!

Here is something to rip that excitement apart.

Sanjaya Malakar is releasing an EP album on January 20th.

I thought he took the hint and disappeared into the ether.

For those of you who don't know who Sanjaya is, or are like me and tried to burn him from your memory, he was a contestant on "Idol"s 6th season (which resulted in greats like Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle, Chris Richardson, etc.) who was blatantly awful. Just terrible. Yet, somehow, he continued to stay due to a large young, female fanbase who all thought he was so cute. This was strange to me, as I was fairly certain young Malakar was homosexual, or would be later on down the line, but I suppose Clay Aiken got to his position somehow. However, at least Clay could sing.

However, due to his noticable difference in talent in comparison to his peers (YouTube his performance of No Doubt's "Bathwater" and you'll see what I mean), he became the subject of praise for the condescending website VoteFortheWorst.com, which encourages non-fans of the show to vote for the worst contestants to screw with the show and its real fans. I, for one, do not find this funny. It is because of them and crying pre-teenage girls everywhere that we are still talking about this kid.

Despite getting scathy reviews from the judges week in and week out, Malakar continue to rise through the ranks before finally being voted off in 7th place. Although that's not necessarily very high up on the list, lest you forget the great, amazing and incredibly talented Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson also finished in said position.

The EP is slated to be called "Dancing to the Music In My Head." Popeater has two clips of the songs: "A Guy Like Me" and "Quintessential Lullaby", stating the EP may help gear up hype for the new season of "AI" as well as Malakar's disc.

Uh, or not.

This is equally upsetting as the fact that Kevin Federline is coming out with a line of children's clothes. What is this world coming to?

Sanjaya? An EP? You're kidding me! The only reason why I kind of wanted him to stay is because I wanted to see his shave his hair off! He CAN'T sing!
