What's Going On: No More Teardrops On Her Guitar...

But maybe on Joe’s. Taylor Swift is proving to be a heavyweight at the end of 2008, with her album “Fearless”, which was #2 last week on the Billboard 200 Album Chart because of Britney’s “Circus” release, is predicted to hit #1 again by a fairly wide margin. This will be the album’s fifth week on the chart.

New chart contenders aren’t doing too well this week. Brandy’s “Human” is predicted to bow around 13-15 mark. Common’s “Universal Mind Control” and Musiq Soulchild’s “OnMyRadio” are currently dueling it out for a #10 debut.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s other album, “Taylor Swift”, is expected to jump up seven spots from #28 to #21.

Note to Self: do a study on Ms. Swift’s swift rise to the top.

Today sees the release of new records by Fall Out Boy, Keyshia Cole, All-American Rejects, Jamie Foxx, Anthony Hamilton, Jadakiss, Plies and the bane of everyone in America's existence: Soulja Boy.

In other news, word that the new Leona Lewis, Ms. Alexandra Burke, has won “The X Factor” over in the UK has spread to America. Her new single, “Hallelujah”, which was also covered by ‘American Idol’ contestant Jason Castro last year hits stores this week in the UK. The song has ALREADY been named the fastest selling single of all time in Europe ever, selling more than 105,000 copies/downloads since YESTERDAY. Sheesh, and they think we’re crazy about the Jonas Brothers

Kings of Leon continue to rule the Alternative Radio format with “Sex On Fire”. Same goes with T.I./Rihanna’s tribute to the “Numa Numa” song, “Live Your Life”, on Top 40 and Rhythmic Radio. Beyonce and her “Single Ladies” put a ring on Urban radio, while Shinedown grabs top spot on the Active Rock format with “Second Chance.” Somehow, Usher is #1 on the Urban AC format with “Here I Stand”, even though no one else cares. Josh Groban proves he’s a perennial favorite to the Adult Contemporary crowd with with his holiday offering of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, and Rascal Flatts’s “Here” corners the Country radio #1.

I’m going to throw a chip in and guess that the new T-Pain repped girl group Sophia Fresh is one of the groups Chris Brown spoke of writing for.

More proof I want to move to London (as if Girls Aloud, the Saturdays and Sugababes aren’t enough) – Mariah’s vintage Xmas classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is #12 on the charts.

I’ve heard new leaked tracks by Day26 (“Stadium Music”), the newly trio-ized Danity Kane (“She Can’t Love You”), Sophia Fresh (“Elevator Music”) and Fall Out Boy (“Tiffany Blews – feat. Lil Wayne”)…and they are all fire. For real. Even Fall Out Boy. Yeah, I’m surprised, too.
